Second Wave of Shipments Submitted! Legendary Worlds (2024) approaching!
6 months ago – Thu, Oct 09, 2025 at 05:33:56 PM

Hi all,

We've been hard at work pushing the various versions of the big adventure book ahead and are excited to add to your cosmic collection ASAP!

We've completed orders for Putman, Dombek, Gillaspie, Mayenfels, Gilhool, Pierce, C. Wright, and Holin, and submitted partial print orders (pending books not yet complete) to P. Harris, Kankelborg, Wilkinson, Kortbein, Dement, Fowler, Ballou, Stoner, Wallis, Sloppy, Land, Abbey, Sinnott, Dahlby, E. Anderson, Allred, Lai, Mei, Paulini, and Hubert! Those latter backers will be receiving the first installment of their books now and the remainder separately once they are ready to go. Books usually ship from the printer in about 2 weeks from when we submit orders, so hopefully they'll be on their way soon.

The book coming next from layout will be the Legendary Worlds Compendium for D&D 5E 2024, which we'll be doing as a single compilation volume rather than the 7 separate issues of the original version. That should be done in layout in the next week, and we'll be posting it up for download on Backerkit as soon as it's ready!

Thanks again for your support of this exciting project and we look forward to getting this cosmic campaign into all of your hands ASAP!

Legendary Worlds Collections uploaded for 5E, PF1, and Starfinder!
7 months ago – Mon, Sep 08, 2025 at 01:35:55 PM

Hi all,

Thanks again for getting your surveys completed and being quick with your feedback. We discovered the Legendary Worlds collections had not been uploaded to Backerkit yet, so I've uploaded all 7 Legendary Worlds PDFs for D&D 5E, Pathfinder 1E, and Starfinder (except the Legendary Worlds: Jowchit 5E PDF, for which I can't find the final PDF--just draft versions--but have emailed the layout artist to get it back and will upload once I have it), so you can download all of those items any time you like from your Backerkit account!

Thanks again for your support and we look forward to getting the new editions up later this fall!

Fulfillment Begins!
7 months ago – Sat, Sep 06, 2025 at 05:37:32 PM

Hi all,

Thanks for your quick attention to the Backerkit surveys. I've downloaded the current backer spreadsheet and have sifted through it today to check for orders that we can fulfill right away! I'm pleased to announce that we've submitted print orders for backers Graunke, Wheatley, Weule, Taylor, Koboldsong, Fetzner, Jankovic, Riehm, ORourke, Drayton, Stevenson, Naylor, Young, del Amo, Combs, Seulzle, Langeneckert, Heiltjes, Saxton-Ruiz, and Tolleson! We've also packed up 5E 2014 books for backers Mooney and Khasin (their remaining items will ship later when they are available)!

Plenty of work still to go to get the remaining books finalized, laid out, printed, and shipped, but we wanted to share the happy news that we're already hard at work fulfilling what we can now!

Locking Orders This Week to Start Early Fulfillment!
7 months ago – Wed, Sep 03, 2025 at 02:02:26 PM

Hi all,

With over 70% of responses in, we've sent out the 48-hour "lock email" to everyone. If you've already completed your survey, you have 48 hours to make any changes you'd like before your pledge is locked in and we charge cards. We've already uploaded a ton of PDFs for our Classic Legendary Planet AP (5E 2014, Pathfinder 1E, and Starfinder) people to download directly from your Backerkit account once your card is charged. We'll let you know as the new editions get completed and uploaded for you to access!

For people who have not been able to access your survey because you selected the "Pay Over Time" option in Kickstarter, I heard back from the Backerkit folks and they say that is working the way it is supposed to and that there is no workaround for it. Backerkit and Kickstarter worked together on making Pay Over Time an option, but part of that is to make sure that pledges are actually final before moving on to the survey part of it, presumably to avoid people making a pledge, doing a survey, and then canceling their pledge before completing payment (but after having gotten the items they pledged for).

I haven't heard back from Kickstarter on whether there's a way to accelerate payment to complete that process on their end, but the worst-case scenario is just that you end up waiting to do your survey until your payment is completed (which looks like it will be October). It will delay getting PDFs until that "layaway" period is complete but won't impact delivery of physical books. We aren't planning to send most physical rewards before December, though for orders that only include preexisting "classic" items and no new items, I'll check through the backer list and those pledges I can ship out early.

Thanks again for your support and for patience with this little shift in the ground beneath us in how Kickstarter and Backerkit manage delayed pledges. It's a new option, so we adjust and keep moving forward!

P.S. African Monsters II is ready to launch next week, so if you want some awesome new creatures for Pathfinder 1E, Pathfinder 2E, Tales of the Valiant, or D&D 5E, check it out!

Installment Pledges and Backer Surveys
7 months ago – Mon, Sep 01, 2025 at 09:32:39 AM

Hi all,

I've run almost 40 Kickstarters but you keep learning new things as you go along. We've had half a dozen or so backers message me that they haven't received their Backerkit surveys even though we sent them to everyone... or so we thought. In looking through all of the folks who have signaled a problem, the thing they have in common is this:

Kickstarter has implemented a new feature where it lets you split your payment for a pledge into several installments, and a number of you have used that feature. It appears that when you do that, your pledge goes into a "Pledged" status instead of a "Collected" status, and since Backerkit thinks your pledge is not complete, it isn't sending out your survey.

I've put in a support ticket with Backerkit to see if there's a workaround for this. They're closed today for USA Labor Day, but I'll let everyone know once I hear back from them.
